On some projects CBC deploys vetted trade partners under our subcontract. The accountability structure does not change. The GC contracts with CBC, CBC manages the partner, and CBC owns the outcome.

CBC Trade Partner Model
  • CBC holds the subcontract and is fully accountable to the GC.
  • Trade partners are vetted for licensing, insurance, and compliance before they touch a CBC job.
  • CBC maintains a fixed on-site point of contact handling coordination, safety, and quality.
  • If a partner underperforms, CBC can self-perform or replace to protect the schedule.
Typical Labor Broker
  • Places bodies on site and steps out of the relationship.
  • No contractual accountability for quality or outcome.
  • Little or no vetting or supervision.
  • Cannot self-perform if something goes wrong.

For the GC, it is one contract, one point of contact, and one accountable subcontractor, regardless of who is on the tools.

What you actually get

Bids you can rely on

Scope inclusions and exclusions stated explicitly. T&M rates included with every bid. Line items broken out clearly so you know exactly what you are buying and what is not covered.

RFIs before the work starts

We review drawings before mobilization and ask questions while there is still time to answer them. Drawing conflicts and missing information get flagged at bid or precon, not discovered mid-framing.

Safety paperwork that gets done

Daily checklists and JHAs completed without being chased. 0.97 EMR. Zero recordable incidents. Not a trade that creates safety liability for the GC.

Trade coordination, not trade conflict

When sequencing issues come up we coordinate directly with other trades and communicate to the GC. We do not stop work and wait for someone else to sort it out.

Change orders with backup

Changed conditions documented in real time. Change order requests submitted with supporting documentation. No surprise invoices at closeout for work performed months earlier.

The sub you wish you had from the start

CBC has been brought in to help recover jobs that were behind or in trouble. The response from those GCs is consistent: they wish CBC had been on the project from day one.

In their words

"Thank you for breaking out items in your bid. It made it very easy to understand the scopes you were covering and what was not included."

GC Project Manager — Commercial Office TI, Central Minnesota

"Thank you for always filling out our daily checklists and JHAs. Your trade is usually one of the hardest to get to complete them."

GC Superintendent — Healthcare Facility, St. Cloud, MN

"You brought up a lot of good questions in our first meeting that needed to be answered. It saved the schedule on that job."

Construction Manager — Multi-Phase Commercial, Minnesota

"Thank you for stating your T&M rates with your bid. Makes the whole process easier to manage."

GC Estimator — Commercial Renovation, Central Minnesota
